Methodology
Mr. Lewis is a firm believer in active participation.  In his classes students must participate daily in class discussion and activities and earn points for doing so.  Using as much German as possible is encouraged and there will be some class periods where "German only" is the rule of the day.  Speaking exercises will be balanced with writing assignments, skit performances, listening exercises, grammar drills and cultural units, which are often enhanced through the use of authentic written materials, CDs and DVDs.  Mr. Lewis strives to achieve a positive classroom environment where everyone is respected and appreciated.

Grading
In determining student progress, Mr. Lewis uses total points earned to determine student progress.  However, benchmark assessment grades are automatically scored by the Skyward System as 25% of the term's mark and the Semester Final Exam as 20% of the semester mark.
